FRA/Site Inspector

Desirable experience includes:

*

Conducting site visits and preparing site inspection or technical reports

*

Carrying out fire risk assessments FRAs)

*

Preparing Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls FRAEWs) in accordance with PAS 998

*

Strong understanding of building construction and design, particularly in high-rise residential developments

*

Providing clear, detailed advice on fire safety matters across various building types

*

Attending client and design team meetings to support compliance with Building Regulations, using guidance such as Approved Document B, BS 9999, and BS 9991

*

Supporting clients in meeting their responsibilities under the Building Safety Act and related legislation

*

Experience working in a consultancy environment

Desirable Skills

*

Degree or equivalent qualification in Fire Engineering or a related discipline

*

Background in construction e.g. clerk of works, surveying)

*

Familiarity with PAS 998 methodology

*

Experience reviewing technical documentation, including drawings, elevations, and design details

*

Working knowledge of the Building Safety Act

*

Understanding of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety) Order

Memberships

*

Membership of, or working towards membership with, the Institution of Fire Engineers IFE) or a similar professional body
