We are recruiting for a Steel Mill Machine Operative on behalf of a well-established heavy manufacturing company in Birmingham, operating a state-of-the-art casting and rolling facility. Key Responsibilities:
Operate machines to process metal coils in a high-spec production environment
Load coils onto machines using overhead cranes
Follow written instructions and complete process records accurately
Use automated controls and basic computer systems
Conduct visual quality checks of finished coils
Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Requirements:
Previous industrial or manufacturing experience is essential
Comfortable working across a 3-shift rotation
Ability to work independently and follow production instructions
Good attention to detail and basic computer literacy
Preferred: Valid Forklift Counterbalance Licence
Desirable: Overhead crane experience training can be provided)
