We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Machine Tool Electrician based in Coventry. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 39 hours per week, plus overtime opportunities where required, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary depending upon experience.

Wickman Coventry Ltd is an OEM Machine tool design and manufacturing company now in its 97th year. We produce a specialised range of Multi-Spindle CNC and Automatic Lathes from our factory based in Coventry that are distributed to customers globally.

As our Machine Tool Electrician, you will join a small team of engineers who refurbish used and build new Wickman machines. Some mechanical aptitude and a flexible attitude will be ideal for this role as following the necessary training, the successful candidate will also be required to install and commission/decommission specific items of external equipment, i.e. mechanical alignments. The role will develop to include the loading and setting up of PLC & CNC software, fault finding and long term include machine commissioning / decommissioning and CAD drawing modifications.
You will be primarily based at our factory in Coventry, although you will be required to work off site at our customer premises worldwide for site visits to install or repair their machines, typically around 6-8 weeks a year.

What were looking for in our Machine Tool Electrician:
* Experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment
* Basic 'Low voltage' (i.e. up to 480Vac) wiring and electrical qualifications (Apprenticeship trained and qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
* Experience of building of electrical panels from schematics
* Machine side wiring from schematics knowledge and experience
* Experience of mechanical fitting of sensors etc
* Electrical fault finding skills
* Capability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Ability/willingness to travel worldwide for up to two weeks at time (Typically around 6 weeks a year in total), and to establish good relationships with customers
* The applicant will have a can do attitude with the ability to integrate within a small team, yet has the willingness and drive for a proportion of autonomous working to progress the job at hand
Desirable experience of our Machine Tool Electrician (training will be given where required):
* PLC experience (particularly Siemens)
* CNC experience (particularly Siemens and/or Fanuc)
* Exposure to previous fault finding exercises
* Familiarity with Electrical CAD systems (WSCAD would be a bonus)
* Familiarity with Pneumatics/Hydraulics
